Recently I asked my two sons if they remembered me singing them to sleep at night. In short, they didn’t.But what they did remember was the song I used to sing to them in the morning. Some children pop right up in the morning and some don’t. When I needed them to get moving, I would wake them up with a song about their day. I would use their names and tell them what they were going to do that day. Every day was different so I would make the song up by adding the actual events of the day.
The images in this book are of real children and real families enjoying some of their favorite childhood events. My older son has written out the music. (Both of the boys are far more musical than I.) My hope is that you start your child’s day off with this song, open this book, and allow them to create their day.
So, insert your child’s name in the song and let your child's day take shape.
